Two Extraordinary 1940’s Art School Carved Oak Figures

Extraordinary pair of life size solid oak carved sculptural figures of two athletic naked males. Carved in the 1940’s from a 400-year-old oak tree for a London art school project. Purchased directly from the family and the first time they have been on the market and for sale. These sculptures are remarkably similar to Anthony Gormley’s another time sculpture but pre-date it by many years.
